Kristin Reddick

LCMHCA

Kristin Reddick (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate. She graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor's degree in business and marketing education and a master's degree in counseling. Kristin worked in the financial services industry for over 14 years where she observed mental health challenges associated with individuals feeling perpetually trapped in high stress environments, especially when facing inequities within the workplace.

In the African American community, a negative stigma is often associated with needing mental health support. This mindset was perpetuated and normalized within Kristin’s family until she realized that everyone deserves a safe space. The lack of qualified mental health providers of color during the COVID-19 pandemic was a key motivating factor in Kristin’s journey to becoming a therapist. She chose to be the change she wished to see. Regardless of race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, age, ability, socioeconomic status, or any identities, everyone deserves a counselor with whom they can be their full and authentic self.

Kristin takes a person-centered approach and customizes her therapeutic approach to each individual based on a variety of factors, such as their goals and cultural norms. She attentively listens without bias or judgment. She incorporates a strengths-based perspective with aspects of acceptance and commitment therapy and solution-focused counseling interventions. Additionally, Kristin utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy, which focuses on change in thinking to change behavior, as well as reality therapy that empowers folx to become aware of their choices.

Kristin creates an open, warm, and encouraging therapeutic environment for everyone. Rather than centering a presenting concern, Kristin engages with each client as a human whose life is impacted by circumstance, experience, and environment. Kristin has a distinct passion for helping clients work through career-related concerns and heal from workplace trauma. Her work also encompasses a range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, life transitions and adjustment, relationship concerns, women’s issues, self-esteem, self-care and wellness. She provides counseling to adults for individual, group, and romantic relationship therapy.
